MINOR Custom Attribute-Based Condition for Cart Items

You can now target cart items based on their custom attributes when creating promotions in Promotions Builder.

What's New?

• Custom attributes on cart items - Specify custom attributes to be added to cart items for use in promotional targeting.
• Custom attribute targeting - Create promotion conditions that target cart items by their custom attributes, enabling more precise promotional rules.

MINOR Location-Based Cart Item Separation

You can now control how cart items with the same SKU but different inventory locations are handled. When the separate_items_by_location setting is enabled, items with the same SKU are kept as separate line items based on their location instead of being merged.

What's New?

• Location-based item separation - Enable or disable location-based item separation by setting separate_items_by_location to true or false. When enabled, cart items with the same SKU but different inventory locations are kept as separate line items instead of being merged.

  • Can be set at the store level or for individual carts with the setting: "item_settings": { "separate_items_by_location": true }. By default, it is false.

MINOR External Reference ID for Shipping Groups

Cart and order shipping groups now support an external_ref field, enabling merchants to link shipping groups to external systems such as ERPs.

What's New?

• External reference field - Shipping groups support an external_ref field for integration with external systems. Set it when creating cart shipping groups, or update it on existing cart or order shipping groups without affecting other data.
• Checkout persistence - When a cart with shipping groups is checked out, the external_ref values are preserved on the resulting order shipping groups

MINOR Original Price Field in Cart and Order Items

What's New?

Cart and order items now include an original_price field under meta.display_price, providing visibility into the product's original catalog price before any catalog-level sales, tiered pricing adjustments, or cart/item level promotions are applied. This supports additional pricing visibility features, such as storefront strikethrough prices.

MINOR Cart Custom Attributes Limit Increased to 100 and Automatic Promotion Quota Added

What's New?

• Expanded attribute capacity - Carts can now support up to 100 custom attributes, up from the previous limit of 20, supporting additional business-specific information and sophisticated promotion conditions.
• Automatic promotion quota - rule promotions now support a maximum of 50 active and future automatic rule promotions per store.

Custom attributes remain persistent throughout the cart lifecycle and automatically carry over to order objects upon checkout, maintaining consistency across the purchase flow.

MINOR Search Carts by Name for Client Admin Users

Client Admin users can now search for carts associated with an Account or Customer using cart name filtering.

What's New?

• Cart name search - Filter Account- or Customer-associated carts using the ilike operator to search by cart name.
• Combined filtering - Search using a combination of cart name and account ID.

Note: Carts without shopper associations are not currently searchable. Support for searching all carts will be added in a future release.

BETA Try Cart Preview to Validate Promotions, Pricing, and Catalogs

We're launching Cart Preview in Commerce Manager as a beta feature—designed to help teams simulate real-world cart scenarios for validating catalog setups, pricing, and promotion evaluations.

What's New?

• Preview how your catalog and pricing will behave in a live cart environment.
• Test promotion rules and shopper-specific conditions before deployment.
• Gain confidence in your configurations without needing a separate storefront.
• Planned: Support for account tags, custom attributes and custom SKUs

Cart Preview is currently in beta and available for early feedback.

MINOR Expanded Taxation Support for Bundle Components

We've enhanced the way taxes are calculated for product bundles by enabling component-level tax support.

What's New?

• Taxes can now be applied individually to each product within a bundle.
• Each component item's tax is calculated separately, ensuring accuracy when items in a bundle are taxed differently.
• Supports compliance with regional tax rules where some products may be exempt or taxed at different rates.
• Supports bulk adding tax items to component items for bundles.

This update ensures that your bundled offerings remain tax-accurate across different markets.

MINOR We have added the ability for customers to supply custom tax amounts for cart items.

You can now choose to pass in tax values for cart items as amount or rate. To learn more see Add Tax Item to Cart API.

MINOR New setting for deferred inventory checks in carts.

We've introduced a new setting to allow products to be added to cart without any check of their stock levels. These checks still happen on checkout. This setting can be applied to individual carts or applied to all new carts via the cart settings.

MINOR Bug fix.

A bug has been resolved with the bundle component pricing breakdown in carts/orders. The breakdown will now show component prices matching the bundles pricing model, including sales pricing where applicable.

MINOR New endpoint to delete a cart shipping group

We've introduced a new endpoint to delete a cart shipping group by the shipping group ID. Notably, cart shipping groups must not be associated with any items in order to be deleted.

MINOR Improved List Pages. We've enhanced the table functionality on our list pages with the following:

• Select which headers show on the table with customizable headers
• View up to 100 items on the page
• Hover over dates to see the date and time details for your location's time zone as well as UTC time zone
• Dynamic search that shows all results with related terms
• Select filters and bookmark the page to return and view the page with selected filters again.

We are making similar changes on list pages across Commerce Manager in the upcoming days.

MINOR A cart.updated event is now emitted whenever any tax-related operation occurs on the cart, such as adding, updating, deleting, or performing bulk actions on tax items. For more information, see Observable Events.

MINOR We have now introduced a new optional field, order_number, which serves as an alternative to the existing order_id. For Authorize.net transactions, order_number will be sent instead of the order_id, and will appear as the invoice number. For more information, see Update an Order.

MINOR We have added the ability to configure string Custom Fields for use_as_url_slug, allowing you to use the value of that Custom Field to access your Custom API Entry in a way that is well-known to you and your processes rather than an auto-generated identifier. Additionally, we have also added a checkbox in Commerce Manager to enable a Custom Field for use as the URL of entry record. See Creating Custom Fields.

MINOR In Product Experience Manager, we have removed the manage_stock field from the response for the Get all Products in a shopper catalog endpoint. This field is still displayed in legacy catalog responses. For more information, see Get all Products in a Shopper Catalog.

MINOR You can now obtain details of component products of configured bundles when making an Add Product to Cart request. For more information, see Including Resources.

MINOR We have made an enhancement to cart side effect messages on promotion applications. Now, when a second promotion using the same code as an existing one in the cart is applied, the side effects provide more detailed messages, indicating the removal and addition of different promotions.

INTEGRATIONS HUB: Released Algolia - Full / Delta / Large Catalog V69 (US) - V54 (EU): This new version includes a fix for an intermittent issue with some dropped images during catalog sync. For more information, see Integrating with Algolia.

MINOR In Product Experience Manager, when you export products that have templates, you can now use template slugs instead of IDs to export templates associated with products. For more information, see Product Export API****.

MINOR When automatically adding free gifts in the shoppers cart, you now have to ensure that the currency of automatically added gift items matches with the currency of the eligible items. Additionally, the free gift item must be within the same catalog as the eligible items. In case of a currency mismatch, the cart response includes an error section addressing the issue with free gift items. For more information, see [Promotions].

MAJOR You now have the ability to create an association between an account and one or more carts. For more information, see Account Cart Associations.

MAJOR We have introduced the Cart Payment Intent feature, which allows you to generate a Stripe Payment Intent specifically tied to a shopping cart and its subsequent order. This feature enables you to track payment details from the cart stage and seamlessly maintain consistency in payment information throughout the order stage. MINOR We have introduced a new optional field to the Orders API, known as external_ref. This field is designed to store external references from other company systems, enhancing seamless integration between our platform and external entities. For more information, see Update an Order.

MINOR Algolia – Full/Delta/Large Catalog Integration: The integration now supports option indexing of inventory status and stock amounts through use of the stockAmount and stockBoolean flags.

MAJOR You can now use the preview cart feature to set a future date for your shopping cart and view the promotions that will be available during that period. This feature enables you to validate your promotion settings and observe how they will be applied in the cart. For more information, see Create a Preview Cart.

MINOR Fixed a bug in PayPal Express Checkout payment gateway where payments in certain currencies were incorrectly formatted.

MINOR Fixed a bug where orders placed or modified between July 5th and July 23rd, 2023, displayed incorrect formatted values.

MAJOR We have introduced the beta release for Shipping Groups. Now, you can easily organize and manage cart or order items into distinct shipping groups. This feature allows you to split shipping, enabling you to tailor shipping concepts to your eCommerce offerings based on your specific business requirements. Minor Commerce Manager: When you checkout a cart with bundle configuration including multiple options from each bundle component, you can now view all selected multiple options for each bundle component on the Order details page.
