MINOR Support for Additional Comparison Operators in Cart Custom Attributes

What's New?

  • Promotions Builder now supports advanced comparison operators for cart custom attributes.

    • is equal to
    • is greater than
    • is equal or greater than
    • is less than
    • is equal or less than
  • Enables scenarios like:

    • Offering a discount to customers with a Lifetime Value (LTV) greater than 1000.

    • Targeting items in the cart with a weight less than 20 for promotional discounts.

These enhancements provide greater flexibility for building highly customized promotion logic based on numeric cart-level attributes.

Promotions Builder Updates: New Account Tag Operators and CSV Export for Item Lists

MINOR More Flexibility with Account Tag Rule Operators We've expanded the Account Tags feature in Promotions Builder by introducing two new rule operators to exclude specified account tags from promotion eligibility. These additions support fine-tuning promotions for specific accounts groups. For example, a merchant can make a promotion available to retail customers while omitting employee-tagged accounts to keep internal pricing separate.

  • Available in the Promotions Builder rule configuration UI under "Account tag condition".

MINOR Export Item Lists as CSV in Promotions Builder You can now export item lists used in promotion conditions as CSV files directly from the Promotions Builder interface. This feature makes it easier to review, audit, and share the products, bundles, or other items included in your promotion rules.

MINOR Cart Custom Attributes Limit Increased to 100 and Automatic Promotion Quota Added

What's New?

  • Expanded attribute capacity - Carts can now support up to 100 custom attributes, up from the previous limit of 20, supporting additional business-specific information and sophisticated promotion conditions.
  • Automatic promotion quota - rule promotions now support a maximum of 50 active and future automatic rule promotions per store.

Custom attributes remain persistent throughout the cart lifecycle and automatically carry over to order objects upon checkout, maintaining consistency across the purchase flow.

MINOR Search Carts by Name for Client Admin Users

Client Admin users can now search for carts associated with an Account or Customer using cart name filtering.

What's New?

  • Cart name search - Filter Account- or Customer-associated carts using the ilike operator to search by cart name.
  • Combined filtering - Search using a combination of cart name and account ID.

Note: Carts without shopper associations are not currently searchable. Support for searching all carts will be added in a future release.

  • Focused Editing Experience: Promotion details now open in a dedicated workspace, reducing distractions and maintaining context.
  • Preserved List View Settings: When returning to the promotions list, previous filters and search terms remain intact, allowing users to resume work seamlessly.
  • Streamlined Product Selection: The product selection interface has been simplified for faster and more straightforward item selection.
  • Faster SKU Entry: Users can now paste a comma-separated list of SKUs directly from the main view, eliminating extra form fields and reducing friction.
  • Add Custom SKU - Enter a custom SKU directly into the text field by selecting Add.
  • Promotion Options Menu: Options to duplicate, delete, or view promotion properties have been moved to their own menu for better organization.

These enhancements are designed to improve the workflow for merchandising teams managing large promotion catalogs, making it easier to create, edit, and organize promotional campaigns without losing context or repeating work.

We’ve introduced Account Tags, a flexible new feature that lets you dynamically group similar shoppers together, making it easier than ever to deliver targeted promotions.

Use Case Example Create a "VIP" tag to identify high-value customers and automatically offer them exclusive discounts that go beyond what regular shoppers receive.

What’s New

  • Create and assign tags to customer accounts.
  • Build promotions using Account Tags as conditions—any shopper with the assigned tag will receive the targeted offer.

All Currencies Support in Promotions Builder

MINOR Enhanced Currency Support in Promotions Builder

We've expanded currency support in Promotions Builder to allow promotions to apply across all available currencies, providing greater flexibility for global merchants.

What's New?

  • Added "All Currencies" option in the currency dropdown, allowing promotions to apply to all supported currencies
  • Rule Promotions still default to the store's default currency, maintaining existing behavior
  • Important note: All currencies option works best with percent discounts, as fixed discounts won't factor in exchange rates when applied to multiple currencies

New! Gift with Purchase Promotions

  • You can now use our Promotions builder to create Gift with Purchase (GWP) promotions. Shoppers who qualify for a GWP offer will have the free gift automatically added to their cart, streamlining their experience and making it easier for them to claim their reward.

New! Promotion Carrots: Buy X Get Y (BXGY) Suggestions

  • We've expanded our Promotions builder to include Buy X Get Y (BXGY) product suggestions. For qualifying BXGY offers, our system can now provide front-end suggestions for the 'Y' products. This helps shoppers effortlessly find and add the discounted items to their cart, streamlining their purchasing journey.
  • This feature can also be used for free-gift promotions when there is a choice of free-gift options, requesting the shopper to make a choice to add one to the cart.

Enhanced SKU and SKULess Item Handling in Promotions Builder

MINOR Enhanced SKUs and SKU-less Item Handling in Promotions Builder.

We've improved SKU and SKU-less item handling in the Promotions Builder. While this change is more noticeable in API requests, the Commerce Manager experience remains unchanged.

  • Merchandiser can handle SKU and SKU-less items within a single condition using the new item_identifier strategy.
  • The item_identifier strategy is supported in both promotion conditions and actions, providing greater flexibility.
  • All existing promotions using item_sku OR item_product_id will remain supported.
  • New promotions created in the Commerce Manager Promotions Builder will automatically use the new item_identifier strategy.

Improved, customizable list page

MINOR Improved List Pages. We've enhanced the table functionality on our list pages with the following:

  • Select which headers show on the table with customizable headers
  • View up to 100 items on the page
  • Hover over dates to see the date and time details for your location's time zone as well as UTC time zone
  • Dynamic search that shows all results with related terms
  • Select filters and bookmark the page to return and view the page with selected filters again.

We are making similar changes on list pages across Commerce Manager in the upcoming days.

List page enhancement

Max times a shopper can apply the code, Bulk codes generation and export

MINOR We have introduced a new coupon code limitation to assign the maximum times a shopper can apply the code. This helps merchants limit the number of times a public coupon code can be used per shopper. For example, you can set a promotion to be used by first 100 shoppers (including or excluding guest shoppers) and each shopper can only use the promotion code once. Added First time shopper coupon code, Added duplicate promotion in Promotions Builder

MAJOR We have introduced a new feature allowing the creation of promotion codes specifically for first time shoppers, who have not yet completed a purchase with the store. Within Commerce Manager, you can now create a single code and select the option to apply it exclusively for first time shoppers. For more information, see Creating a Single Code.

MINOR Commerce Manager: We have added a new feature allowing you to duplicate an existing promotion in Promotions Builder. For more information, see Duplicating a Promotion.

Added Stacking and Priority in Promotions Builder

MAJOR We have introduced a new stacking and priority feature in Promotions Builder within Commerce Manager. This feature allows you to assign priority levels to promotions and stack multiple promotions together. With priority settings, you can control the order in which promotions are applied, giving you greater flexibility and precision in managing discounts. Added Usages for Promotions Builder, Exclusion feature in Promotions Builder

MAJOR We have added Promotions Builder Usages to help you track and understand how promotional offers are utilized. With this feature, you can:

  • Retrieve the usage history of a specific promotion.
  • Track the history of a particular promotion code within a promotion.
  • Anonymize customer email addresses associated with promotion usages.

MAJOR We have introduced a new exclusion feature in Promotions Builder within Commerce Manager. This feature allows you to exclude specific products, categories, or attributes from promotions, providing more flexibility in setting up promotion rules. Promotions Builder general availability, get all products and promotions added to beta filtering

MAJOR We have introduced a new feature, called Promotions Builder, powered by our Rule Promotion engine. This feature offers you the flexibility in providing diverse discounts to shoppers, supporting discounts of varying complexities, ranging from code-based customer discounts to Buy X Get Y discounts, fixed price promotions, cart fixed discount, and many more based on your business needs. Moreover, it is compatible with our existing legacy promotions capability, ensuring a smooth transition to the new Promotions Builder. To apply Rule Promotions API in carts and orders, you must enable the use_rule_promotion field in Cart Settings.
