Creating Offerings

Follow these steps to create an offering.

Select Offering Preview at any time to view a snapshot of your offering.

1. Log in to Commerce Manager.

2. Select Subscriptions Offerings.

3. Select Create New.

4. (Required) Configure the offering details.

   Option	Required	Description
   Name	Required	A name for the offering.
   Description	Optional	A brief description of the offering to display to customers.

5. (Required) In Manage Products, you can either:

   • Select Create new product. Enter the following information, then select Save and attach to create the product and attach it to this offering.

     Attribute	Required	Description
     Name	Required	A name for the product or service.
     Description	Optional	A description of the product or service to display to customers.
     SKU	Optional	A unique stock keeping unit for the product.
     Unique identifier	Optional	An identifier you can use to reference this product elsewhere.
     Product image	Optional	An image or file with more detail about the product.
     Pricing	Required	A unit price and a timeframe, either Day or Month, for how often that price applies.

   • Attach an existing product. Select Attach Product and select + next to the product that you want to attach. A product created in Product Experience Manager can also be attached this way. See Creating Subscription Products in Product Experience Manager.

   note

   A product you create here is attached to this offering as soon as you save it. There is no separate screen for creating or deleting a standalone product. To remove a product from an offering, select Remove. This detaches the product from the offering. It does not delete the product.

6. (Required) In Manage Plans, you can either:

   • create a new plan
   • attach an existing plan. To attach an existing plan, select Attach Plan and select + next to the plan that you want to attach.
   tip

   Select the expanded view to see more product and plan details, for example, product price and subscription cycle, billing frequency, plan pricing and so on.

7. Select Save Offering.

8. You can update an offering at any time by selecting Subscriptions > Offerings and selecting ... > Edit next to the offering you want to edit.

Product Pricing

You can assign a price and a unit price to each product. A unit price is the timeframe during which the product price is applicable, either Day or Month. For example, a streaming service priced at $12.99 with a unit price of Month is available for $12.99 a month.

You can display prices to your customers in their local currency. You can configure up to 10 currencies per store. Create currencies only for the locales in which you do business, and select one of them as the default currency. If you do not select a default currency, the store uses United States dollars.

When creating a plan, you can also configure a total price for all the products in an offering. This lets you offer a fixed, discounted price across those products. A price you set on a plan overrides the individual product prices set here. See Plan Pricing.
